MGC In-Depth Features could be thought of as a sort of “catch-all” area of the site where you’ll find comprehensive first-hand information about the Midwest Gaming Classic. In general, these articles will either focus on the extensive history of the Midwest Gaming Classic or give special, detailed looks at some of the events, areas, and things found at the show.
Features are split up into four different sections:
2001-2003: The first three years of the Midwest Gaming Classic were all very similar – meeting in similar spaces, covering much the same content and even predating many of the current mainstays such as guest speakers, an arcade room, or even much of a playable museum for that matter.
2004-2009: Again, the Midwest Gaming Classic shared many of the same characteristics during this period including the advent of a larger pinball & video arcade area, an impressive vendor area, guest speakers, and a playable console & classic computing museum. Nearly every show in this period was held in the Olympia Resort in Oconomowoc, WI.
2010-Present: This represents the “current” era of the Midwest Gaming Classic in the Brookfield Sheraton Hotel. This era brought about the maturation of many existing areas like the museum, as well as introducing several new areas including the popular Community Hall and growing tabletop war game area.
Site Features: Articles not specific to any era of the Midwest Gaming Classic. These are generally articles about the show in general or the MGC In-Depth website.
